MRS. AMY JACOBSON
5TH GRADE

Welcome to fifth grade at Iowa Valley Elementary. My name is Amy Jacobson and I am eager to begin my 34th year of teaching at Iowa Valley. For those of you that don’t know me, I grew up and currently live in High Amana. I earned my B.A. degree from Buena Vista College and my M.A. in teaching from Coe College. My husband Shawn and I have two adult children. Our daughter Emilie is married to Ryan Van Kooten and is  a physical therapist in Ankeny. We are also new grandparents. Our grandson Micah James was born in January..Our son Jon is 25 years old and is an accounts specialist at Lear Corporation. He lives in Moscow Mills, Missouri. This year my teaching partner, Ross Karsten and I will be stressing our Tiger Pride expectations as well as personal responsibility. We want our students to be confident individuals who always give us their best effort and become life long learners.
